Madinah, Saudi Arabia – 01 February 2024: As part of its efforts to ease access for residents and visitors, Rua Al Madinah Holding partially opens Al Amidah Road for incoming traffic from King Abdulaziz Road. The road will serve incoming traffic from King Abdulaziz Road to the Prophet’s Mosque via Al Amidah Road, then through the tunnel on Ali bin Abi Talib Road. This aims to enhance traffic flow, efficiency, and reduce congestion. It is part of the major road infrastructure works within the project and was carried out in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Rua Al Madinah project includes developing key roads around the Prophet’s Mosque and integrating them into the project. These include transforming Al Amidah Road from a secondary road into a major 35-meter-wide roadway. The project also includes Jaddat Al Haram Road, a network of internal roads, and a tunnel linking Ali bin Abi Talib Road with the Airport Road.

Rua Al Madinah Holding has previously opened several roads and access points within the project and the surrounding area. This includes the extension of King Faisal Road – Al Safiya Bridge, which was opened in March last year. This extension serves those heading to the Prophet’s Mosque from Ali bin Abi Talib Road and Al Safiya Bridge. Additionally, Ali ibn Abi Talib Road Tunnel was opened, streamlining access to the Prophet’s Mosque by connecting the southern side of the central area to Al Awali area.
